HOW TO HELP FAMILIES IN THE OPIOID EPIDEMIC

How to Help Families in the Opioid Epidemic emphasizes three crucial principles that work across the board to help the family members of those struggling with substance use, abuse or a disorder to work through their losses, whether it is a death or "live' loss.

THE VALUE OF PROCESSING YOUR GRIEF

The Value of Processing Your Grief is designed to move you to want to work through your grief verses keeping it all inside. It encourages honesty, reaching out for help, and the realization that it is all a matter of healing and health.

    A SURVIVE TO THRIVE STORY

A Survive to Thrive Story contains three principles to enable you to have a strong foundation in life to be able to both survive and thrive even through the most challenging situations you may go through. Julie Kay found these principles during a marriage crisis and practiced them as a lifestyle through the loss of her daughter and four grandchildren. She wants to empower you to thrive through it all and walk in your destiny!

    AWARENESS SPEECHES:

IS THE OPIOID CRISIS AN EPIDEMIC?

This presentation awakens the audience to the opioid crisis at the present, how it has worsened over the years, and why the Tampa Bay area needs the most attention. On top of Julie Kay's personal story being briefly shared, the following is covered in this presentation: vital and alarming statistics are shared, awareness is brought to the specific danger of most drugs being laced with Fentanyl, what Fentanyl does to the brain is described, and the value of Narcan being readily available is expressed.

    STAND IN THE G.A.P.

Stand in the G.A.P. engages the parent and the teacher to envision Julie Kay's foundational mission for grief support, awareness and prevention as three vital goals towards the solution of the opioid crisis.

    NARCAN TRAINING

Basic, In Depth or a Workshop are all available to explain the purpose for Narcan and how to use it to help save a life.

    PREVENTION SPEECHES:

    BE RESILIENT AND LIVE!

Be Resilient and Live! is designed to steer youth and young adults away from drug use completely, as a preventative message. Julie Kay approaches this by telling the story leading up to her daughter's overdose on Fentanyl in 2020, the choices leading to her demise, and some eye-opening statistics. The goal is to take the audience on a journey to think about three areas of choice in their life that will either lead them down the path to growth, success and fulfillment or to disappointment and possibly their demise.

    ENCOURAGE C.A.R.E.

Encourage C.A.R.E. convinces the parent and the teacher of their role to meet four foundational needs in children and youths' lives in order for prevention to be successful.
